Called the “Oasis of the Desert,” the beautiful town of Winnemucca, Nevada sits right on the Humboldt River and abounds with activities for just about everyone.

For the Outdoors-man, there is fishing at the many lakes, or hunting antelope and mule deer in the nearby Sonoma Mountain Range. Excellent mountain biking awaits on the 36 Mile long, Winnemucca Trail System. Located just ten miles outside the city, the largest sand dunes in Nevada provide fantastic riding opportunities for off road vehicles and camping.
For the History Buff, there are several buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including The Winnemucca state Bank and Trust Company Building, and the W.C. Record House. There are many nearby Mining Ghost Towns to explore as well as the oldest petroglyphs in North America located at the Winnemucca Lake petroglyph site.
Looking for a night out? Despite it’s rural feel, Winnemucca still has its share of Casino’s and Restaurants for those that enjoy gaming and dining out. Stay the evening at one of the area’s many Hotels or the New Frontier RV Park and stay for the Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo. Enjoy the many beautiful sight seeing and outdoor adventures to be had; Winnemucca is a great little town to be a part of.
